Day by day itinerary
Day 1
Arrive in Tokyo
Welcome to Tokyo, Japan's exciting capital city. We will transfer you to your three star hotel which is well located for exploring. Spend your first evening discovering nearby areas like Shinjuku or Shibuya. Or enjoy a relaxed dinner at an Izakaya to try some local Japanese food.
Day 2
Discover Tokyo's sights
Start your day at Asakusa and visit Senso ji Temple, Tokyo's oldest temple. Explore Nakamise Street for souvenirs. Then, head to teamLab Planets Tokyo for an interactive art experience. Later, you could shop in Ginza or visit Meiji Shrine. End your day with views from Tokyo Tower or Shibuya Sky.
Day 3
Bullet train to Kyoto
Today you will take the famous Shinkansen bullet train to Kyoto, using your national transport pass. Check into your three star hotel which is perfectly placed to explore Kyoto's rich culture. Spend the afternoon at Kiyomizu dera Temple. Then, enjoy a walk around Higashiyama District to see the city's old streets.
Day 4
Kyoto's temples and bamboo forest
Begin your day at Fushimi Inari Shrine, known for its many red torii gates. Next, visit the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, where tall green stalks create a magical atmosphere. In the evening, explore the old Gion District. You might even spot a geisha there before having a traditional Kyoto supper.
Day 5
Nara day trip or more Kyoto
You have two great choices for today. You could take a short train ride to Nara. Here you can see friendly bowing deer in Nara Park and the Great Buddha statue at Todai ji Temple. Alternatively, stay in Kyoto to enjoy its calm beauty. Visit Kinkaku ji, the Golden Pavilion, or stroll along the Philosopher's Path.
Day 6
Travel to Osaka
Take a short train journey to Osaka, a lively and energetic city. Check into your three star hotel. Spend the day exploring Osaka Castle and the trendy Shinsaibashi Shopping Street. As night falls, visit Dotonbori, the city's neon lit food area. Try famous street foods like takoyaki and okonomiyaki.
Day 7
Osaka exploration or theme park fun
For those who love thrills, spend the day at Universal Studios Japan. It is home to Super Nintendo World and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Otherwise, you could explore Umeda Sky Building. Or visit Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, or enjoy a relaxing boat cruise in Osaka Bay.
Day 8
Depart Japan
Your amazing seven night trip comes to an end today. Enjoy your final Japanese breakfast. Then, we will transfer you to the airport for your flight home. You will leave with wonderful memories of Tokyo's modern side, Kyoto's traditions, and Osaka's vibrant energy.
